Physiotherapists' use of information in identifying a concussion: an extended Delphi approach
| The first 100% of the full text of this article appears below. |
Players with concussion are often seen first by the team physiotherapist. Therefore, physiotherapists should be conversant with current guidelines regarding assessment and management of head injury. All team physiotherapists should be familiar with the Sport Concussion Assessment Tool [SCAT card], as described in the Prague Guidelines,1 and use this as the basis for their clinical evaluation of head injured players. Ultimately, the responsibility falls back on the team doctor, who should see the player before he or she returns to competition.
