Effects of acute prednisolone administration on exercise endurance and metabolism
| The first 100% of the full text of this article appears below. |
This paper answers to an important and practical question: does the acute systemic administration of glucocorticoids have ergogenic properties to improve endurance performance? The results of this paper will help the decision makers of the World Anti-Doping Agency Prohibited List to take a decision on the inclusion of glucocorticoids in the List based on scientific evidence. However, there is one question that this paper does not answer: can glucocorticoids indirectly affect performance by helping athletes to recover from exhaustive competitions?
