Variants within the COL5A1 gene are associated with achilles tendinopathy in two populations

erratum

Important notice

Since this article was accepted for publication the authors have noticed a genotyping error; therefore, the answer to the second question as stated in the abstract "to identify a predisposing haplotype for TEN in both populations" is incorrect and will change once the samples have been re-genotyped. The association of the COL5A1 gene, in particular the BstUI RFLP, with Achilles tendinopathy in a second Australian population is correct; however, the "fine-mapping" of the region within the gene is incorrect and will change. A revised manuscript will be published shortly.
