    What did I do?

    I investigated injury situations and methods for clinical and imaging examinations in the diagnosis of acute groin injuries in athletes.

    Why did I do it?

    Acute groin injuries are common in team sports, yet research was close to non-existent. Anatomical studies have provided greater insight into the complexity of the musculotendinous structures in the groin, but the relationship with acute injury was unexplored. Improving knowledge related to the diagnosis would improve both the prevention and management.

    How did I do it?

    Elite and subelite athletes with acute groin pain presenting at Aspetar Sports Medicine Hospital (Doha, Qatar) within 1 week of injury were included.
