Aims and scope

British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) is an international peer review journal covering the latest advances in clinical practice and research. Topics include all aspects of sports medicine, such as the management of sports injury, exercise physiology, sports psychology, physiotherapy and the epidemiology of exercise and health. To ensure international coverage BJSM has dedicated North American editors, as well as Editorial Board members from countries including Canada, Australia, Scandinavia and South Africa.

Each issue includes selected summaries from SportsMedUpdate, an evidence based journal watch service coordinated in South Africa; 2004 will see the launch of an education series that will encompass a core curriculum in sports medicine as well as interactive online case reports.

British Journal of Sports Medicine is the official journal of the British Association of Sport and Exercise Medicine and has been published since 1974.




Editorial policy

The British Journal of Sports Medicine (BJSM) covers all aspects of sports medicine and science - the management of sports injuries; all clinical aspects of exercise, health, and sport; exercise physiology and biophysical investigation of sports performance; sports psychology; physiotherapy and rehabilitation in sport and medical and scientific support of the sports coach.
