    Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rupture is one of the most common knee injuries, with incidence estimated at 30–78 per 100 000 person-years.1 A debate on whether management should be primarily surgical (eg, early reconstruction) or rehabilitative (eg, early physiotherapy or exercise training, with optional delayed surgery) persists, which in part stems from the lack of high-quality synthesis of previous trials, as well as that data continue to emerge from new studies and follow-up from prior studies.
