Regular exercise helps reduce the incidence of diabetes, hypertension, cancer, depression and osteoporosis. Sports, fitness and exercise professionals, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine (AMSSM), have taken strong exception to that peculiar interpretation of the evidence.
