The Halberg Trust aims to ensure disabled children have the opportunity to participate in sport and active leisure of their choice. The methods taken over the past 50 years to achieve this goal have varied dramatically and grown with community and social change. The Halberg Trust currently has 15 staff around the country to promote inclusion of disabled people in sport and physical activity. The Sport Opportunity Advisors are all based at their regional sporting trusts and work in a project approach to develop community inclusion through one on one project work, education, training and funding.
