Data are presented as mean (SD) unless otherwise stated.
*FHR data were not given but rather tracings were assessed for reduced variability, bradycardia and tachycardia. At rest, 4 of 25 women had abnormal FHR patterns (as determined by author); during supine exercise, 8 other women presented with abnormal FHR patterns.
†Significantly different from the left lateral rest position.
‡Two women were excluded from the study based on abnormal FHR patterns (one had bradycardia) that occurred on turning from the left lateral position to the supine position and did not participate in the supine exercise.
§Significantly different from left lateral rest position, representing −34±11% change in UBF to the supine rest position.
¶No significant change from left lateral rest position, representing −16±23% change in UBF to supine exercise. Avery et al 23 has been included as an observational study.
