The age group numbers are: 1, the decade from 10 to 19; 2, 20–29; 3, 30–39; 4, 40–49; 5, 50–59; 6, 60–69; 7, 70–79. The mean yearly change is the percentage increase in runners in each age group, a positive result indicating a net increase and a negative result indicating a net decrease. The relative change is the percentage change in the net numbers as they relate to the total number in that age bracket. It is an adjusted value to correct for the variable number of runners in each age bracket.
