Inclusion and exclusion criteria

| Groin pain for at least 2 months | Palpable inguinal or femoral hernia or pain felt above the conjoint tendon |
| Pain located at the proximal insertion of the adductor muscles on the pubic bone | Clinical signs or symptoms of prostatitis or urinary tract infection |
| Pain felt at the proximal insertion of the adductor muscles on the pubic bone when performing resisted adduction | Back pain felt from T10 to L5 |
| Groin pain during or after sporting activities | Clinical suspicion of a nerve entrapment syndrome of the ilioinguinal, genitofemoral or lateral cutaneus nerves |
| Age 18–50 years | Known malignant disease |
