2015, Applied Radiation and IsotopesCitation Excerpt :The above are recent examples of the controversy about the usefulness of the blood volume measurements. About 40 years ago some authors thought that, due to the conflicting viewpoints presented in the large amount of literature about blood volume measurements, there has been a clouding of the diagnostic value of routine blood volume measurements and an erroneous assessment of the value of these tests (Wright et al., 1975). However, nowadays, there is a resurgence of the clinical interest in the results of blood volume analysis with the arrival of new techniques.
